Greek Yogurt Smoothie Bowls – All Natural, No Added Sugar!

Jump to recipe

If you have read my bio, you know that I am constantly thinking with a creative mind. When I saw my first acai bowl I was AMAZED at the intricacy and design that some people put into making one. After all, how could you eat something that looked so pretty?! While the bowls that I saw on Pinterest were made by the professionals in tropical destinations, I was determined to at least try and recreate one that tasted decent. Well, I am here to tell you how obsessed I have become with blending up these beautiful and delicious “smoothies”!

Today I am bringing to you my three favorite recipes. Well, really the only three I have managed to perfect and enjoy. 😛 I hope to venture off with new flavors in the future so subscribe to stay informed!

Red Berry Almond Butter

To be honest, this recipe I created on accident. I wanted to make a smoothie as a snack that contained a decent amount of protein to fill me up. I knew that combining the almond butter and greek yogurt would do just that. With that thought I looked in our freezer to see what kind of frozen fruit we had and I stumbled upon a bag of red raspberries. I LOVE RASPBERRIES. Any kind of berry actually, and I am so looking forward to going to the local farmer’s markets this Spring! Any-who… Now that I have decided to take on the adventure of blogging about food, everything I make I look at from an artistic perspective. When I decided I was going to make a smoothie, I immediately thought back to my goals of creating a smoothie bowl. I went for it and I LOVED it! The consistency was everything that I thought it would be, the flavor was delicious, and I was full for hours! That is when I discovered that these protein packed bowls are great snacks between meals or a wonderful addition with breakfast. If you love almond butter and berries, you will enjoy this. You can drink them like smoothies if you do not wish to use toppings, but I think toppings are a delicious and creative addition. Try the recipe below!

Blueberry-Banana and Greens

The creation of this smoothie bowl was my inner blogger saying “I’m hungry and what do I have that is pretty I can make food with?” I happened to pick up some fresh blackberries from Aldi that day so I was dying to use them as a design on top. 😛 Again, I went to our freezer stash of fruit and picked out some yummy blueberries. I combined them with a banana, my favorite greens, and the usual smoothie bowl essentials and I had myself another favorite flavor! It wasn’t a difficult decision to top this pretty purple bowl with some dark raspberries and the green pepitas I had sitting in the pantry. If you enjoy smoothies with greens in them, you definitely need to try this!

Piña Colada

I came home from work one day and was really hungry, but I still had a good two hours until dinner time. Solution? SMOOTHIE BOWL. I didn’t intend for this one to come out tasting like a tropical paradise, but it did. Holy guacamole this is my favorite one so far! The coloring in the photo doesn’t do it justice, as the flavors that you will experience are vibrant and refreshing. Hints of coconut make each bite a flashback to your favorite beach vacation. I know I will be making this in Myrtle this summer! (If you are not a fan of coconut, see the potential substitutions in the recipe notes )

I would love to see your smoothie bowl creations!

It was a lovely wedding gift from my aunt and I use it all the time to make smoothies, pesto, and my homemade granola!
