Buffalo Chicken Dip Meets Taquitos
This recipe was born out of my high school love for frozen taquitos and my current love for buffalo chicken dip. The recipe that I created was so easy, I knew I could make some tasty buffalo chicken taquitos with it. Turns out that I was right! The basis of the buffalo chicken dip is Texas Pete® Original Hot Sauce. When combined with the gooey sharp cheddar, blue cheese, and cream cheese, you get the bangin’ buffalo flavor that B.C.D is known for. Throw all of that in a baked tortilla shell and you have yourself an indulgent and soul-warming meal. Also, don’t skip out on the sauce! The Avocado Cilantro Lime Crema at the end of the recipe is a refreshing and creamy dipping sauce that adds the perfect amount of coolness to this recipe. You won’t regret making it!
If you love buffalo chicken dip and Texas Pete® Original Hot Sauce as much as I do, I hope you try out the recipe! If you do, tag @passportflavor and @texaspetesauces, then #passportflavor and #SauceLikeYouMeanIt on Instagram. I’ll give your masterpiece a share!

Texas Pete® Buffalo Chicken Taquitos
Ingredients
Buffalo Chicken Dip Filling
- 1 cup Texas Pete® Original Hot Sauce
- 37.5 oz canned chicken
- 1/4 cup blue cheese
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 3/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese
- ground pepper
Taquitos
- 12 whole wheat tortilla shells more if they are smaller in size
- avocado oil spray
Avocado Cilantro Lime Crema
- 1 avocado
- 1/4 cup cilantro fresh
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 1/2 limes juiced
- 1 cup almond yogurt or plain Greek yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425F
Buffalo Chicken Dip
- Heat a large skillet on medium-high heat
- Add the canned chicken and shred with a spatula
- Add the hot sauce and blue cheese crumbles, stir to combine well
- Once combined, add the cubed cream cheese and mix well. You can press the cream cheese down on the bottom of the pan to melt and mix it with the chicken
- Once the cream cheese is melted and fully mixed in, add the shredded cheese and black pepper to taste, stir to combine until the cheese is all melted
Taquito Assembly
- Heat the tortilla shells in the microwave in increments of 10 seconds until they are warm and more pliable
- On a baking sheet, spray each tortilla on one side with avocado oil and place the oiled side down
- Fill each tortilla with 3 heaping Tbs of buffalo chicken mixture on the non-oiled side. It is best to place the mixture in a line down the middle of the tortilla.
- Roll each tortilla so that the ends remain open, and place the seam side down on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 minutes on the first side and flip.
- Bake for another 8 minutes, or until edges become golden brown and begin to crisp
Avocado Cilantro Lime Crema
- While the taquitos are baking, prepare the crema.
- Add all ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Serve on the side as a creamy and refreshing dipping sauce!
