Equipment

  • slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 4 lb bone in ham
  • 1/8 cup brown cane sugar
  • 1 pineapple cored and sliced into 2"x 2" cubes
  • toothpicks

Instructions

  • Place the ham in the bottom of the slow cooker. Be sure to remove any prepackaged sauces that may be attached to the ham.
  • Take the brown sugar and sprinkle it over the ham. Make sure to evenly coat the entire ham.
  • Cut the pineapple as directed. Take half of the pineapple chunks and stick them into the ham using toothpicks, covering the majority of the surface of the ham.
  • Place the remaining pineapple chunks around the base of the ham.
  • Cook the ham on high for 2 1/2 hours. If a more tender ham is desired, turn off the cooker and allow the ham to rest in the slow cooker for another hour on "warm".
  • Serve the ham covered in the pineapples and brown sugar juice from the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

For the ham, I used a smoked ham portion with the bone in. The smoked flavor pairs well with the brown sugar and pineapple.
